Derek Gibson is a life-long resident of Northwest Arkansas. As a recent graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at SMU, Derek works in private banking and commercial lending for Legacy National Bank. Before he decided to join his dad, Don Gibson, in the banking industry, Derek worked for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. as a Logistics Engineering Manager after earning a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas and an MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Although banking is a family career, their passion lies in leukemia research. Derek is a board member of the Ryan Gibson Foundation, named for his late brother. The foundation funds leukemia research projects across the country that search for a cure. Derek and his wife, Jennifer, enjoy spending time with family and friends, participating in fitness and outdoor activities, and tailgating to support the Razorbacks. They have two children – a son, Dylan and a daughter, Brookelyn.
