Gerald Jordan graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1970 with a BA in journalism and earned an MSJ from Northwestern University in 1971. He went on to write for The Kansas City Star, The Boston Globe and The Philadelphia Inquirer, where his last assignment was as a Washington correspondent. A former Neiman Fellow at Harvard (1982), Gerald returned to the UA as an associate professor in the Walter J. Lemke Department of Journalism in 1995. He keeps his editing skills sharp and stays current with trends in the newspaper business by returning to Philadelphia each summer to serve as editor at the Inquirer. Gerald is also the incoming president of the Arkansas Alumni Association and has headed the association’s scholarship committee. Gerald loves golf - both participating and watching – and enjoys movies and reading. He is the favorite gentleman of his wife, Elizabeth and daughter, Candice Lane.
